Lyrically Speaking

Originally poetry was sung and performed and a lot of my poetry is written in a lyrical format and can be sung with a chorus. Poetry such as September Bride and Perhaps We'll Meet Again have been recorded by Plastic Wizzard on iTunes.

Perhaps We’ll Meet Again

There were always kisses at the bottom of my card

At loving you, I had to work real hard

But then you went away, I begged you girl to stay

I wanted you to stay, but then you went away

Perhaps we’ll meet again, in another life

Perhaps we’ll meet again, in another life

Perhaps you’ll be with me, in another life

Perhaps we’ll meet again, in another life

Our love was dissolved in a solution of hope

I thought I was your letter and not just your note

You ticked the boxes of compatibility

You had no intention of stabilising me

If we roll back the time

If we roll back the sheets

If we roll back the reason

Maybe we can meet

Perhaps we’ll meet again, in another life

Perhaps we’ll meet again, in another life

Perhaps you’ll be with me, in another life

Perhaps we’ll meet again, in another life

There were always suitcases in the hall

Pictures removed from the wall

Taxi engines running in our street

And the sound of your departing feet

If we roll back the time

If we roll back the sheets

If we roll back the reason

Maybe we can meet

Perhaps we’ll meet again, in another life

Perhaps we’ll meet again, in another life

Perhaps you’ll be with me, in another life

Perhaps we’ll meet again, in another life

You Are the Fragrance of Today

A fleeting glance of a vision in pink

A floating walk of confidence

A glimpse of modern love

An emptiness that’s left when you are gone

I follow, without delay

You are the fragrance of today

I see your reflection in a mirror, as you pass with haste

Portraits hung along the wall

Where you stood and stared at them all

You departed down the stairs

Your perfume filled the air

But you are no longer there

I waited impatiently by the door

I hoped you’d come back for more

I thought I saw your silhouette

And as I turn and run in hope

I breathe heavy as I pray

You are the fragrance of today

September Bride

September bride

Why do you cry

There’s a tear in your eye

September bride

Every time I look around

The love we had is lost and found

Everything I’ve said and done

I’ve lost my way and I’m undone

September bride

Where do you hide

Wipe a tear from your eye

September bride

Everyone that we once knew

They all left to start anew

That leaves just me and you

Take my hand let’s start anew

September, September

September, September

Repeat
